Crayon is a competitive intelligence platform for marketing professionals. Crayon can monitor changes in the online presence of any business. The software platform delivers the data to customers in an easy-to-use UI, making it simple to track, analyze, and act on shifts in the competitive landscape. This Boston-based SaaS startup is backed by Baseline and Founder Collective, with a strong customer base that includes Fortune 500 companies.
I worked full time at Crayon from November 2016 until May 2018 as a User Experience Designer and then Product Manager. I utilized human-centered design research methods (e.g., journey maps, ethnographic interviews, testing with clickable wireframes) to strategically improve the product. As the product improved, so did our numbers: customers renewed on annual accounts and upgraded; average dollars earned per account steadily went up; and the number of active users per account increased. Customers began to cite the modern look and easy-to-use nature of the product as the reasons they chose us over our competition.
