I joined Modelo as an intern to help with user-centered product design, a few months before the company planned to release a beta version. I helped coordinate feedback sessions, then used the feedback to inform prototypes and branding.
I began by inviting interview candidates to take a screener survey.
Next I interviewed architects and designers, visiting architects in-office to see how they work. These interviews and observations helped me create user personas and make product recommendations.
Co-design worksheets like the ones seen below helped facilitate discussion and documentation.
This persona study focuses on the viewpoint and habits of a practicing designer/architect.
Persona development and research informed a "Modelo Philosophy" document. This also helped me prepare a short language and tone guide for the company, based on a team brainstorm about the user's "persona." I also copy-edited the beta site for language and tone.
I mocked up home pages, and a walk-through tutorial for first-time users. I also helped the lead designer review mockups with an eye toward the user and consistency.
I wrote test cases for the entire beta website; then I evaluated each feature in the test cases.
